The company was founded in 1910 by the late Alfred George Miller, at that time most of Miller Brothers work was building and decorating with the occasional funeral being requested.
In 1958 the company moved to its current position in Bargates, Christchurch. Alf Miller died in 1974 and his grandson Terry Miller joined the business and took control alongside his father, the late Roy Miller.
In 2011, Terry Miller made plans to retire and so Stuart Major along with his wife Helen purchased shares within the business and became company directors. Stuart who has been with Miller Bros for 15 years served in the Royal Navy and saw action in the Gulf war.Helen was a self employed hairdresser for 28 years until joining the company.
Stuart & Helen continue the day to day management and operation of the business.With Terry Miller now in retirement he occasionally is requested to conduct funerals.
